Trip to Guilin
I’ve always heard about the stunning scenery of Guilin, so I finally decided to take a solo trip there. The moment I arrived, I could see why it’s so famous for its natural beauty. The karst mountains, rivers, and peaceful countryside really live up to the saying, “Guilin’s scenery is the best under heaven.”
The highlight of my trip was the Li River cruise. As the boat floated down the river, I was surrounded by towering mountains and their reflections on the water. One of the most memorable moments was passing by Nine Horses Fresco Hill, where the mountain’s patterns supposedly resemble nine horses—though I could only spot a few! The tranquility of the river and the beauty of the landscape made the whole experience feel surreal.
After the cruise, I spent a day in Yangshuo, a small town that’s popular for its countryside vibes. I rented a bicycle and cycled along the Yulong River, surrounded by rice paddies and bamboo forests. The air was fresh, and it felt great to escape the busy city life. The scenery was so picturesque that I kept stopping to take photos.
I also visited Elephant Trunk Hill, the iconic symbol of Guilin. It’s amazing how nature carved the hill to look like an elephant drinking water from the river. In the evening, I enjoyed walking through Guilin’s night market, trying local snacks like Guilin rice noodles and browsing for souvenirs.
Overall, my trip to Guilin was a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Traveling solo allowed me to explore at my own pace, and the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside gave me a sense of calm that I haven’t felt in a while. Guilin’s breathtaking landscapes and unique culture made it a trip I’ll never forget.
